Looking for a great place in Charlotte to stop when you head out? This can be a mixed bag. mexican food is a hot ticket in this growing latino community.Qdoba Mexican Grill Harris Blvd University Area is a good choice for hybrid mexican cuisine.Well first off I am against this sort of trendy hybrid food in all its forms. I walked in skeptical and only did try this location bacause a UNCC student was on the patio eating an giant buritto that looked worth the tasting. This location is an open air setting on the corner in this upscale and clean plaza designed with a Miami feel in mind. If you are looking for something to do with a lady this is one step above fast food but shorts still seem right. Overall a nice clean and not much more to say atmosphere in a great plaza location. The menu seemed limited with only a handful of choices, though they do each have quite a few combinations of salsa and fillings (cheese rice black beans etc).As mexican is my favorite, and having eaten it in Tucson, AZ ive seen that authentic is generally better.this is an nice exception. Everything was very fresh, and the flavor with different and very good on both of my visits. The portions are immense and even the students must have trouble finishing on most visits. With prices areound 14-18$ for 2 people (with drinks) its a step above fast food there too, but worth it on occasion. 5 Best Uses for Hybrid Utility Clubs
Have you seen those new hybrid utility cubs? They are showing up all over the place, rescuing golfers from all kinds of situations. The reason for this is simple; they open up opportunities for a number of great new shots. Even the tour pros are using them to help them win big tournaments. (Todd Hamilton British Open, David Toms PGA Championship, Reteif Goosen US Open) We have come up with what we believe are the 5 best uses for these hybrid clubs.1. OFF THE TEE These clubs are great for long par 3s and short par 4 tee shots when you must carry a bunker or water hazard. Most long irons shots have a low piercing trajectory. These hybrids have a lower center of gravity that helps to launch the ball up into the air. Because of this high ball flight, the ball will come down on a steeper angle making it easier to stop on the green.2. FROM THE FAIRWAY They are good for long approach shots to the greens on par 5s and long par 4s. Because of their great distance control and accuracy, these hybrids will build your confidence. Hitting this club form the fairways will have you going for more par 5s in 2 and leaving you short putts for eagle. 3. FROM THE ROUGH Most long irons get caught up in the rough causing them to twist easily and produce mishits. The bigger size and mass of the hybrids over regular irons makes it easier for the club to drive through the rough while keeping the face square. This squaring of the clubface is also aided by the rudders and rails on the sole of the club going through the turf.4. OUT OF A BUNKER - Move the ball back in your stance to promote a little steeper angle of attack. The bigger club heads and larger ruddered soles of hybrids make it easier to swing through the sand without catching it fat or heavy. It is very important on these long bunker shots to hit the ball first. This will help get the ball up in the air very quickly and out of the bunker.5. AROUND THE GREEN Hybrid utility clubs work great for bump and run shots around the green (just ask Todd Hamilton). They help to eliminate the chance for error by getting the ball rolling on the ground as quick as possible. Because the shafts are shorter you can play these shots almost like a putt without choking down on the shaft to gain control. This eliminates the chance of a skull, chunk, or a decelerating wedge shot.We find these hybrid utility clubs to be one of the most versatile clubs you could have in your bag. Have you considered a hybrid adjustable mortgage?
If youre not sure if you should sign up for an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) or a fixed rate mortgage, youre not alone. It is very easy to get excited when thinking about your new home, and then get feel a bit deflated when it is time to start thinking about financing.
Part of the challenge for any home buyer is to reconcile the fact that the introductory rates on adjustable rate mortgages can be so low. In fact, they are often lower than the market rate, and considerably lower than the rates on fixed rate mortgages. Now, you can get an ARM and some of the benefits of a fixed rate loan with the hybrid adjustable rate mortgage.
A hybrid ARM is one where the rate is locked in for the first few years of the loan and then will go back to market rate at the end of the lock-in period. The lock in period is quoted up front and written into the adjustable rate mortgage contract. This period can vary from five years on up. Depending on your credit history, the amount of the loan, and your experience with your mortgage lender, you can negotiate lock in term as high as eight or eleven years.
This type of loan is ideal for anyone who plans to stay in their home for the first few years and then move to another place. Couples, young home owners, first time buyers and anyone who is upwardly mobile. The average American spends about nine years in their first home. If you fit into this profile, you can get a hybrid adjustable rate mortgage, get a fixed rate for the first five to ten years and then sell the home before the rate starts to fluctuate again.
If you were to get a fixed 30-year mortgage at the same that youre considering the hybrid, it is unlikely that you would get a fixed rate that matches the teaser rate on the ARMs in the market. To take full advantage of this type of mortgage, you must fully understand that the rate will revert to the ARM levels at some point.
This means that you can count on a rapid and drastic increase in your monthly payment once the loan goes back to a full adjustable rate basis. If you plan to stay in the home for a very long time, your savings from the locked in period will probably be wiped out when the loan reverts to its adjustable status. You can consider a refinance, but that will also take some money out of your pocket. If you decide that you dont want to sell the property, keep in mind that overall, your loan will still be an excellent choice for your financial situation.
